First contract opens the path for larger implementation as Iveda Philippines aims for $3M in smart city projects all throughout the country.
MESA, Ariz.: Business Wire –> Under an initial $180,000 order, today Iveda® (NASDAQ: IVDA), a worldwide leader in AI-driven video surveillance and smart city solutions, revealed the installation of its IvedaAITM platform in a significant city center in the Philippines. Under its larger $3 million smart city project in the area, this milestone represents the first smart city deployment by the company.
Beginning in the center of Manila, Iveda Philippines is collaborating with city officials and their current trusted system integrator partners to fulfill the rising needs on safety in some of the biggest global centers of the Philippines. The city chose IvedaAI to add real-time, AI-powered analytics to supplement its vast CCTV system. IvedaAI layers easily onto current CCTV systems to provide faster, more accurate detection of crucial events, improved public safety, and operational efficiency rather than replacing existing hardware.
“Iveda started its focus on smart cities with the Philippines six years ago,” stated David Ly, CEO and Founder of Iveda. “We took time really listening to the vision of municipal officials—understanding their goals, city pain spots, and working with local integrators to customize a solution that would operate with their current infrastructure. Not only is it a mark for Iveda, but securing deployment in one of the most esteemed and forward-looking cities in Southeast Asia will help us to duplicate this model in other world cities of like size.
The deployment is meant to empower the surveillance team of the city with automation and intelligent alerts, therefore lowering manual monitoring tasks. IvedaAI was a perfect fit since the city needed to maximize its long-standing investments in CCTV systems and simplify processes.
“This is a proud stride forward, remarked Iveda Philippines President Lino Barte. “We have developed a model of deployment that works—and more crucially, one that scales—together with the stakeholders and integrators for the city. We will be showcasing such rollouts shortly; other big cities—including even top hotel chains—are now lining up to copy it.
Operating as a joint venture in the Philippines with an eye on smart city implementation is Iveda Philippines. Announced last year, this first city marks Iveda Philippines’s first significant contract in support of the company’s larger smart city vision in the Philippines. The new aim for the end of fiscal year in 2026 is $3M in revenue from smart city projects in the Philippines based on how the Iveda team has gauged the speed of municipal activity.
With a compound annual growth rate of 9.6% through 2029, recent industry research projects the worldwide smart city market to be around $80 billion this year. Iveda’s AI-powered overlay on current infrastructure provides a scalable, reasonably priced route to modernize towns looking to update their infrastructure and safety systems without large upfront expenditure.
